ABOUT THE SILK HAIR BOUTIQUE

Silk Hair Boutique is a boutique independent salon located in the Mid Sussex town of Haywards Heath.
Silk was started in 2011 by Karen Truscott who as a trained hairdresser in the town for over 30 years finally achieved her dream of becoming a salon owner and having the salon she had always dreamed of working in herself.

The philosophy of Silk is to take amazing people and turn them into fantastic hairdressers. People who are not only brilliant at cutting, colouring and styling hair, but also understand how important it is for the client to feel totally at ease from the moment they enter the salon.

We try to maintain a consistent team, most of which have trained and stayed with the salon, enabling clients to get to know the team as a whole and not just their individual stylist.

In my career as a salon owner, I have had the privilege of combining my passion for hairdressing with my entrepreneurial spirit. Starting as a hairstylist, I quickly realised my desire to create a space where clients could receive exceptional services in a welcoming and stylish environment. Through hard work and determination, I established my own salon, focusing on providing top-notch customer experiences and staying ahead of industry trends. As a salon owner, I have had the opportunity to lead and inspire a talented team of hairstylists, fostering a collaborative and creative atmosphere. Ensuring that my salon offers a wide range of services, I have also cultivated relationships with reputable product suppliers and kept up-to-date with the latest advancements in haircare technology. Being a salon owner has allowed me to not only express my artistic vision but also create a space that celebrates individuality and enhances the confidence of each client who walks through our doors.

Hi my name is Lise I’ve been hairdressing for 30 years, working with great names such as Trevor Sorbie , Daniel Field and assisting behind fashion shows. My career path has allowed me to teach hairdressing and work in my own salon for 13 years , my passion has always been behind the chair in salons and styling to fit in with the clients individual needs and bespoke colours, I’ve always kept updated with the latest techniques and love the salon environment .. and creating easy to maintain , manageable styles on my clients ..look forward to meeting you.

My name is Kate and I’m the newest member of the Silk Hair Boutique team. I’ve been in the hairdressing industry for over 25 years, working in salons and also for myself. Have worked with many different product brands and suppliers. Although I love all aspects of hairdressing my main passion is colouring and cutting, to see that total transformation is what it is all about for me. I have worked in the hair industry for so many years now because I love that client stylist relationship and how you get to know someone and look after their hair accordingly.

After taking a break from a successful career in hospitality to raise a family, I decided to embark on an exciting adventure into the world of hairdressing. In 2014 I pursued an intensive learning program and have spent the next 10 years obtaining high level qualification, and building knowledge and hands on experience working within the trade and successfully progressing to senior stylist.

I find joy in providing the best possible customer experience for each and every one of my clients and getting to know what works best for you. Whether it be natural looking, easy to manage styles or bold and brave creations. I can work with you to achieve your vision and make you feel fantastic.

I am a skilled and dedicated hairstylist with a keen eye for detail.

Although early in my hair career I have had the privilege of working as a junior, then junior hairstylist at Silk hair Boutique where I had gained invaluable experience and honed my skills in the art of hairdressing. With a passion for creativity and an eye for detail, I have assisted senior stylists in providing exceptional services to clients, ensuring their satisfaction and building lasting relationships. I have thrived in fas-paced salon environments, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in the industry.With excellent communication skill, I have been able to listen attentively to clients needs and desires, offering innovative suggestions to achieve their desired look. As a dedicated and motivated professional, I am eager to continue growing and evolving in my hair career, making a positive impact in the world of hairdressing.

SALON TRAINEE

Hi my name is Izzy, I’m just starting my career in hairdressing and I currently work in the salon on Fridays and Saturday whilst I get ready to embark on my training journey at collage this September.

I assist in various hair services, including shampooing, colour consultation, styling and treatments. I take pride in creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for all our clients. I like watching the stylists to see the before and afters and how they create them. I love blow drying and styling hair at the moment and I can’t wait to start learning how to do more.
